Nov. 15 Preview: Foods, Wines of Slovakia

SAN ANTONIO Wednesdays 8-9 p.m., News Talk 930 KLUP

A Presentation of Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods

Few Americans, other than those with family roots there, know much about the food and wine traditions of Slovakia, the “other half” of Czechoslovakia for most of the 20th century. That’s, at least partly, why we went there last week, tasting traditional Slovak foods in the rugged countryside with the daughter of the founder of the Cottage of the Good Shepherd, and then tasting some amazing wines with the daughter of the founder of Karpatska Perla. Daughters speak the best English and are the most fun on the radio.
